Why subscribe?
I have always wanted to have a platform, and for most of my life, created one for myself. I started my own sports newsletter as a 10-year-old; I launched my own Red Sox podcast as a 12-year-old; I hosted sports talk radio shows on obscure suburban AM stations throughout my high school years. Four years ago, I made it to WEEI, where I stayed until last August. As a freelancer right now, I am fortunate to work with some excellent people and organizations. But I want to create something of my own. That is where this newsletter comes in.
In this space, I will write about whatever I feel like. Most of the time, that will probably mean critiquing our national political press, which is complicit in our downward societal descent. But sometimes I will write about gay issues, other times I may dish about the Boston sports media scene. It depends on what I am feeling passionate about. I can promise you this: as a paying customer, you will never be ripped off. I cannot think of a higher compliment than somebody paying to read my work.
What do subscribers get?
Subscribers will get unfiltered access to weekly columns, stories, and content. I would also like to plan meet-and-greets for subscribers. Many of you have been following me on years. I am humbled by your support.
What does Alex do now?
I am currently the deputy managing editor of Outsports, and contribute to Forbes SportsMoney, Boston Magazine and Boston Spirit Magazine. I also host shows on CBS Sports Radio.
